I trust you've seen it by now and maybe would like to share your thoughts by commenting below. I'd like to see if we can get some discussion going.
I love it how all the talk there was about the too hot dwarves, Thorin looking too young etc, turned overnight into everyone praising Richard for his strong soulful performance. Clearly, not everyone knew to expect the quality, depth and detail that we're used to seeing. But people seem to have learned quickly and those who didn't know of him before, certainly know now.
For me this movie was the first time I got to see Middle Earth on big screen (unfortunately I woke up to like LotR far too late for that) and as beautiful and magnificent it all looked from start to end, it was Thorin I had wanted to see, and even if I had huge expectations, I got way more than I bargained for. For me, it was totally his show. I suddenly realized that the biggest problem this movie proposes is how am I ever going to be able to watch LotR again without spending all those hours missing my favourite dwarf? Unless you count that as a flaw, it was pretty much flawless to a fault. I'm so thrilled we've got two more Hobbit Dwarf movies to look forward to.
This groups is growing fast and as I welcome each and every one of the new members to share in the RA art adventure, I smile to myself because I knew this was going to happen. I stepped in to help in running this group basically when I saw the first glimpse of Thorin in the very first Hobbit trailer... and I said back then that our star won't pass unnoticed when this film is out. And here I am, adding new members every day, which certainly wasn't the case before. We're well over a hundred members now and counting.
With the growing amount of incoming art, we saw necessary to add a few rules. So, everyone, please have a look at the rules of submitting art to this group. The changes were made to clarify our principles rather than to restrict you. The main point is that we want to keep this group respectful at all times, equally towards Mr. Armitage and group members of all ages. We are trusting you to use your own common sense to know what to submit here and what not to. I'd also like to remind you to please submit your art to the right category. There's also a new rule concerning WIP (work in progress) submissions. Please, stick to the rules and hopefully we don't ever need to start to require admin approval for the incoming art.
